I love the characters so far- they all seem super distinct, and already have their own voices and stories, which is great. I also love the time period and setting- I feel like there are so few books written in the pre-World War era, and to focus on Black characters is extra fabulous! I also adore Chicago, so that adds in a bit of extra excitement. Can't wait to read the rest! (Also, the cover is GORGEOUS!)
