I haven't read any books exploring what a life of wealth and priviledge for a black family living in Chicago in the 1910's ... and I'm here for it! The first look reveals great character development among the daughters of a prosperous entrepreneur, and their white servant. With the dress descriptions, tee-up for romantic tensions, and lead-in for a grand ball, it gives off some heavy Bridgerton vibes.
