I was not familiar with the Lux series before reading this book, but now that I read it, I can't wait to go back and read all other books in the series. It is such an interesting science fiction mixed with reality universe - with some interesting alien species living together (or trying to?) with humans. In this particular book, the main character is Evie, a human girl. She goes to a party with her friend and met a strange looking guy named Luc, that she can't quite place as a Luxen or as a human. Weird things happen in that party - including a raid and a murder - and from there the story unfolds. As the book progresses, Evie learns more about Luc, and even about herself. In a way, it is a weird alien-human come of a age story.
