This is my first ever review, and am I glad that it's for this preview! I read the first few chapters here and there from linked posts from JLA's social media pages, but reading even more chapters all together gave me serious goosebumps. I love and have read many (most) of her previous books and even before I read the blurb, I had already added this book to my to-read shelf on Goodreads. This preview did not disappoint! I loved the main character's voice, and the flow of writing felt and read like a natural conversation/thoughts. And for those repeat JLA readers, some key figures from past novels cameo'd, which caused me to squeal IRL. Evie and Luc give me a Josie/Seth vibe from her Titan series, but also a bit of Katy/Daemon from Lux. The novel appears to start off with an overall mysterious atmosphere, which I love. I'm excited to read the full plot and to finally uncover some truths hiding behind many of the characters' vague/carefully crafted statements - to which I give points for keeping me hooked for the rest of the novel. If you couldn't tell by now, I can't wait to read the rest of the novel!
