I loved this book so much. I'd never read any of the other Lux books - I didn't even know this was a spin off series until I had started to read it - but that doesn't detract from the novel at all. (Though, I assume if you have read them you'd find a lot of easter eggs I missed.) The characters, the plot... it grabbed me right off the bat. Luc is a typical JLA leading man - broody, hot, wildly into the female lead. Evie was awesome; her story line and evolution throughout the book was great -- even when something felt obvious, there would be a twist to surprise you. I just wish some of the dialogue wasn't so dopey (like an adult trying to sound like a cool teen)... though cringe-y dialogue is one of the few low points for me in any JLA novel.
