Full disclaimer: I did not fully realize that this was a spin off series of (I think?) the lux series by Jennifer Armentrout. I feel like I would liked (and maybe even understood?) this book better if I had read that series before starting this book. That being said though, I did enjoy this book. Luc was everything and definitely one of my new favorite book boyfriend. He was so charming and funny and just overall awkwardly cute. I sometimes got annoyed with Evie, the main character, because she ignored so many things that I felt were pretty obvious. It was honestly like in horror movies where the girl hears a creepy noise downstairs and goes to investigate it alone and you are literally just screaming “NO GIRL,” it was that level of frustration for me at times.
