The Darkest Star takes place 4 years after Oblivion, the fifth book in the LUX series. If you don’t know, the Lux series is now one of my favorite series. It is most often compared to Twilight saga except with Aliens. And for those of you who do not care care for Twilight, the main female character is a really fun strong, character with cleaver quips and come backs. strives to stand on her own two feet. Plus BONUS! She’s a book reviewer, blogger, and has a video channel. Also, the intimate scenes were a lot sexier and steamier while still being appropriate for YA.

The Last Star follows a new character, Evie, humans are now aware of the Luxen. This creates new standards in society such as human only establishments. Creating a brand new interesting dystopian universe for this series.

It is always worrisome when the series continues without your favorite characters, but in this first look I feel like I can easily accept the new characters and would grow an attachment. I love Armentrout’s writing style. For me it flows so nicely and I enjoy her descriptions. She always spends just enough time filling in necessary information without dragging it out too long, keeping a steady pace. I cannot wait until this book comes out, I will be first in line!
