Clever setup for what seems to be an amazing story
In just 8 chapters, I was already enthralled by what seems to be an amazing story. Armentrout introduced an array of unique and vibrant characters with nuanced interactions and a plethora of verbal and non-verbal communication that told me both too much and not at all. Characters from the Lux series were also effortlessly integrated into the story--I never felt like they were taking over Luc’s story.
One of the biggest takeaways from this excerpt was the state of the world after the events of Opposition. The way humans are handling the news of the Luxen’s existence mirrors that of our own world which is both interesting and sad--it most definitely hits close to home.
Another thing I really enjoyed was the breadcrumbs that Jennifer left about Evie and how Luc and the Lux series crew may know her. This was done really well and I’m really interested to see where it goes--if it goes anywhere at all [I think I know the secret though :)].
All in all, this excerpt most definitely has me super excited for the epic saga to come!
