So first Alexandra Bracken, I am so sorry that I never tried to read your books up until one was adapted into a film. I do admit, I blame the covers of The Darkest Minds. That and being somebody who loves to study infectious diseases, I am weary of such books. With all that said, I accidentally picked The Darkest Legacy without the rest of the books. Recognized the name and though: Oh I'll read this. It's the cover and Zu. Zu. I love you, Zu. I met you and I am here to stand with you. Also controlling electricity is always one of my favorite powers. So. Bonus. I'll have to reread this after reading the first few books to grasp a better understanding because I envy those who were already familiar with some characters. It struck me as if there were moments I would've appreciated more if I had more of a background to understand them. Those happy moments, like seeing an old friend. The action in the plot was a reminder that I can have fun. Easily. I might be interested in small weird science details, but I was able to just be free and enjoy this book.
