The darkest mind was such a great start to this series, I bought a boxed set so I could immediately start on book 2, and I was super glad I did, because after book 1 I was able to jump right into book 2. And then at the end of book 2, I had the most sour taste in my mouth. The predictability (fins somewhere safe, stay there until the last like 100 pages or so, something happens and they have to leave 🙄) I was very annoyed and book 3 I initially dnfed. Now that’s that relevant to this book, once I forced myself through. This book still had an edge of predictability, however it was a really nice ending to the series, it put a nice bow on it, and readers were satisfied. Is this a series I will reread? Not past books 1 and 2, maybe skip three and read book 4. I wanted to love this, but Brackens writing might be way too predicable for my taste. I loved this book, but I couldn’t get past the harsh read this series was to truly love it as much as I would.
