Throughout the first three books of The Darkest Minds trilogy/series, I kept wondering what happened to Zu and where she was, and this book answered that and I loved seeing things from her perspective.
My two favorite characters continuously throughout this book were, of course, Zu, but I also loved Roman and what he brought to the team. He made everyone think things through for a change to a certain extent and think about the other involved instead of just rushing in like had been the plan before.
Having said those two nice things, there were so many other things I just didn't like or care for. There was so much angst that was unnecessary throughout this book that made it unenjoyable and I kept hoping it would end sooner.
Overall this book just felt like an unnecessary add on. So many questions were left unanswered and I was left feeling disappointed by the whole book. I still loved the rest of the series but this one you don't have to read in my opinion.
