I never like to give a bad review, I know authors work hard to create their content, but some times novels can be rushed and this one felt rushed to me. I first purchased the darkest mind series for my sister and myself to read together. Once we got to this novel we had a hard time reading it. I felt like it was rushed but also drawn out at the same time. There was this massive hype when this series came out and as the hype died down so did our interest unfortunately. I know that Bracken took a while to write this and has had successful books in the past, but for us. It didn’t measure up to the level of the last 3. With the 5 year time jump, I felt like she could have accomplished a spin off instead of dragging on with the original storyline.
