Alexandra Bracken should be crowned as a dystopian queen. She is able to write such a gripping story that follows so well with her previous works in The Darkest Minds series.
Reading The Darkest Legacy was like crossing a steel wire. It's edgy, tense, and the view from above both thrills and frightens you. It's really great to see how the narrative has developed so much from the first installment in the series.
I am so happy with Zu got her own story! I enjoyed reading through the flashback sequences and seeing how the past is so closely intertwined with the present.
This is a standalone work so if you're just getting into the series you'll be fine. It complements The Darkest Minds series so well though!
