Dystopian awesomeness. I haven't read any of the other book(s)? in this series. I don't know how many there are, and I am not familiar with the back story or any of the other characters. I'm guessing this was written to be a standalone, and that I don't have to read the one that is now a movie. The Darkest Legacy is pure greatness. The characters are complex and beautifully written, they're unique and individualized and the plot is rip roaringly fast and detailed. Basically, never trust the damn government. I mean, really, how much has changed? There is a lot going on this book and so many characters to try to keep track of but Bracken has done such a bang up job of treating them like the real life people that it was no trouble at all following who was who throughout the novel. This book is a rare treat and I'm thankful to Bookishfirst for the opportunity to read it!
