Thank you to the publisher and BookishFirst for my copy!
This was a fun YA summer read, told with a "Then" and "Now" interlocking storyline. The main character and her two best friends find their trust and friendship challenged by secrets, lies, and a mysterious murder at the summer camp that has been their refuge.
The most compelling part of this story was the web of suspicion built up between the protagonist and her two friends. The narrative keeps you guessing about who might be involved in what nefarious activity, really drawing you into the sense of unease the main character experiences. Slight spoiler: the ability of these friends to be vulnerable, to share their troubles, and to rebuilt trust was a highlight of the story.
If you like mild thrillers and stories about figuring out what aspects of the past to bring forward as you grow up, this one is for you.
