Solid YA Mystery
The Counselors was a really solid YA mystery read. I do tend to prefer the faster pace and darker aspects of adult mysteries but this book was good for a YA. Unfortunately, I do think this one was a bit predictable as I started to guess the ending well before it happened, but as a reader of a lot of mystery novels this is bound to happen.
I enjoyed the friendship dynamics in this and all the drama involved. Goldies relationships with our other characters were a big part of this story. I also thoroughly enjoyed the setting, a camp always makes for a great backdrop for a mystery and this one was no exception.
I was hooked into the story and mystery from pretty early on so this book is definitely fast paced and intriguing enough to make it a fast read. I think the author did a great job keeping you engaged and wanting to read more. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to young adult mystery readers.
