fun summer mystery
This was a fun YA mystery that follows three friends at a summer camp and the secrets that unravel when a body is found on the lake.
This book made me jealous that I never went to summer camp (sans the dead bodies of course). I loved the pacing of the story as it alters between past and present, slowly filling in backstory on the characters and their relationships. I also thought Goodman did a great job capturing the nuances of teenage friendships — feeling left out, keeping secrets, and navigating who you are versus who you want to be.
I liked getting a bit of Goldie's coming of age story as she juggles the rich friends she has at camp and the locals she built relationships with during the school year. Overall it's a quick mystery that makes for a fun summer read. Pick it up when it's out May 31.
Thank you Bookish First and Razorbill for my gifted copy.
