After reading the beginning, I’m firmly in John’s corner. With his past, the article, and now Oyster’s demise, it seems that every one so far is treating John like a fragile little flower. John just needs every one to understand that he needs to process this in his own way, own time. His wife is lecturing him about his drinking like this new murder is going to slide John into his old ways. Give him time to process. Even knowing that he has an affair later in the book, I’m curious to find out why. I’m definitely going to get this book and finish it just so I can see John survive and hopefully find some peace in his life.
