I didn't remember the premise of this book when I received it in the mail and I just started to read it without checking out the details. Typically, I read sci-fi or paranormal themed YA books so I was wondering what was going on while reading this book. It didn't turn out to be sci-fi or paranormal which did not make it so I disliked the book at all. But it does have a creep factor to it and the ending is really good. The main character Margot had been dealt a bad hand in life which left her somewhat dull yet I still liked her. Then she gets to live with a family that seems majorly blessed and later rather odd but she hangs with it. Margot is essentially a good kid. At the end when things take a turn for the worst Margot finally finds some spark for life. For anyone who likes to read books where characters in bad situations make it through this book is one to add to your list.

I received The Companion book free in turn to give a review and thank you for the good book. : )
