The Companion was a quick read for me which is surprising, given the length of the book.
Although I really liked to storyline and the main point of the book, I felt it was maybe a little too long or parts dragged out/added in that didn’t necessarily need to be there.
It seemed like it was drug out for a while with little details here and there with this little romantic bit of a storyline thrown in and then all of the sudden full blown details circling Agatha and her mother and everything that was taking place in this mansion. I think ending was a little too rushed as well. I would have liked to get more detail on what happened in the coming days and more details following Agatha getting the help she needed and even Margot coming to. Yes, Laura was caught but, how did everything come to. And what happened to John? He was just kind of forgotten about.
Overall I did enjoy The Companion and would rate it a 3 out of 5 stars.
