3.5 stars, torn on whether to go up to four or down to three....
I saw this one getting a lot of love in the book community so I knew I had to read it. Maybe my expectations were a little too high?
I knew what was going on from the get go, yet the writing was good enough to keep me listening, as was the narration. I felt the epilogue was a little too rushed.
The atmosphere was Great, and I did love the character development. It was good, and I don't regret the time I spent listening to it, just a little frustrated because people were saying how surprised they were by what was actually going on. I even took a look at my notes to make sure I wasn't exaggerating about knowing what was going on from the start.
I think I just need a break from thrillers because I'm not surprised by anything anymore and I'm guessing everything by page 40 in every book that I read 🤷♀️.
