Margot is a lucky girl. She is the sole survivor from the accident that killed her family. She’s been offered lodging at a colleague of her father’s remote country estate. While she’s there she is entrusted to care for their comatose teenage daughter. As Margot settles in and begins to recover, she wonders the history of the family and the depth of the rooms that are locked.

I loved this book! I could not put it down. The entire book is so creepy... you know something is happening and the anticipation is slowly building like a pressure cooker. The end is a bam of excitement with a very satisfying ending. I do have a few questions that I feel weren’t addressed, but they may have been left up to interpretation. While I assume this takes place in modern day, it had a very gothic feel to it. This was the perfect summer thriller and will make great fall reading as well.
