I LOVED the setup for this novel. a girl who has basically lost everything and everyone, is invited to live with a family who are strangers to her, even though there is some slight connection between the patriarchs.
Of course, the invitation has, shall I say, a single string attached. A simple thing, really. All the Suttons ask is that Margot befriend their ailing daughter, Agatha.
None of what I said should raise the hairs on my arms. It is, however, the delivery by the author that sets the chills to shaking. I can feel that it's gonna get dark, strange, and twisted, and I CANNOT wait for it!
