The opening page of this book will grip many readers, myself included. I enjoyed how the author set up the family’s death with “last words” section. I will say the next 10-15 pages were a bit slow and didn’t build the main character as much as I’d like. Then comes the twist with her adoption. Can’t wait to read more!!
