Margot just lost her entire family in a car accident. Being the sole survivor with no other family, she is immediately shipped to an orphanage until an unexpected adoption by a wealthy family. Why would they want to adopt a teenage girl when they could have whatever they want? Not knowing what to expect, Margot arrives at a palatial estate and meets the Sutters. Laura and John Sutter are the epitome of privilege with their polished shoes and upright appearance. Margot is confused upon arrival after learning that they in fact already have two teenagers as well. One is away at college and the other, Agatha, is in her room. This mysterious Agatha didn't greet Margot when she arrived so Margot is curious about her. Laura insists she meets her darling daughter Agatha and that's when Margot discovers that Agatha is catatonic. She suddenly went into a catatonic state seven months prior. That's when Agatha realizes she is there to be a companion for Agatha and to try and help her in whatever way possible.
I absolutely loved reading this First Impression. I devoured it within twenty minutes and I am intrigued to read more of the story of Margot and Agatha and the secrets The Sutters clearly hold.
