The opening lines are enough to hook me, particularly the car crash and the mother’s words before they roll over the embankment. My mind is already running with possibilities about why she said those words and what they saw.
It’s been a while since I’ve read a good YA horror novel and I’m really looking forward to all of the thrillers and spooky books that are sure to be releasing soon. I’ve never read anything by Alender, but I’ve heard from several of my book buddies that she is one of the best in terms of delivering the creeps and, most importantly, she doesn’t water it down because it’s young adult. I’m really looking forward to this one and I’ll definitely be adding the rest of her books to my tbr.
