So far, I love how 'The Companion' takes the building blocks of gothic horror - an orphaned protagonist; night terrors; a country estate; etc. - and reinvents them for today's YA audience.

I can picture this book being an excellent choice for fans of everything from literary classics like 'Jane Eyre' and 'Turn of the Screw', to Netflix's 'The Haunting of Hill House'.

Can't wait to see how Margot's - and by extension Agatha's - story unfolds.

Also, the book cover is as disquieting and it is eye-catching. Perfect for this story!
