I was immediately pulled in by Margot's voice. She's survived a tragedy, and the darkness and wit she carries with her afterward made me want to stick with her, no matter how unsettling the places her story takes us might be. The mystery of what is happening with Agatha, the silent daughter of a family that takes her in, makes me want to read on. And the cover is as elegant and unnerving as the first few chapters of the book.
