I don’t read a great deal of thrillers, yet reading the first look to this story felt pretty familiar. I do think that’s bound to happen from time to time, as almost every story is a retelling to some extent, but there wasn’t anything in this first look that stood out to me as unique in the writing, characters, or plot. I will be honest and say I’m not in the mood for a thriller at the moment, though, so that may have impacted my impression significantly. I will personally pass on this one but I think readers who enjoy thrillers may find something here for them (I hope!)
