The Children's Tale
This is a story I would not pickup for myself. I do not read nonfiction or stories set during WWII most of the time. On the off chance that I do, it is probably because it was recommended specifically to me or it was assigned at school.
The story is nice and tragic, getting the story off a good start. The children do behave like children, but still have experience from devastation and loss, thus being in an odd part of their transition into more bizarrely adult-like.
I wish there had been more going on action-wise, not just narration-wise, but this is a tale of tales, so perhaps that is just me.
