As a mother, this was heartbreaking to read. The lengths to which mothers will go to take care of their children have no end. The fact that this book is told to us from the perspective of a child really makes the reader feel the experience from his perspective. This seems like such an interesting book and I cannot wait to see where Amerigo's journey takes him.
