The concept of the setting and plot really grabbed me. Then learning a bit about the main character Amerigo really drew me in. As a first impression this is a novel that will draw in the reader into this historical setting.
I could see this as a great pick for bookclubs as it touches on so many emotions. Plus the historical setting adds even more interest to the book.
