This was pretty long for a first impression, but a great start. I'm a fan of historical fiction and WWII and its aftermath have certainly had a great deal of coverage in that genre, but this is a subject that I personally haven't seen tackled before. I like the characters voice a great deal, the author I think really captured the mind of a child in her writing. This is definitely one I would be interested to read further.
