The Cherry Robbers is a gothic fiction story about a recluse named Sylvia Wren. The thing is she was not always Sylvia Wren, she was born Iris Chapel and has been outrunning her past for a long time. A persistent reporter starts chasing her down and says she knows who she is and is relentlessly hounding her. The other part of the story follows Iris Chapel as she is growing up and lays out the tale of her tragic past. There are six sisters in the Chapel house, they are all a bit odd in their own way. we see the first married off and a strategy strikes. Is there something more to this? Are there ghosts of the people killed by the Chapel gun empire haunting the family? That is up to the reader to decide. Will the sisters all fall to the curse? Will Iris escape and outrun her past? These are all questions that come up as we follow our way through with the Chapel family past and present. Well-written and perfectly creepy, this is one sure to please gothic fiction fans.
