This story reads like a tragedy you just can't look away from. You know continuously that it can only get worse- there aren't many twists and turns so much as a there are slow descents into the dark. The Cherry Robbers is truly haunting and, at times, almost felt stressful to read. As a result, it took me a few breaks to get through, but I don't regret the investment in the least.

I found The Cherry Robbers to be an artistic read, if not in prose than in the thoughts the story provoked. Upon finishing the book, I find myself conflicted on how I feel. I was so invested in the characters from the beginning (aside from the father figure) that I felt almost hollow by the end of it. Angered, even, by the actions of some of the secondary roles.

To say I felt nothing reading this would be a horrible lie. To say I felt good reading this would also be a lie. I would, however, call it a good read. That much is true to me..
