The premise of this one had me intrigued from the get go. I haven't read anything by Sarai Walker, but the gothic vibes and family curse had me from the start.

Sylvia is an interesting character right from the beginning, and I kept wanting to read on to figure out exactly what her story was just as Eliza Mortimer kept wanting to reach out to Sylvia to find out the real story as well.

After the prologue featuring the violet notebook where we get just enough of a tease to keep us interested, we move into the blue diary - where Sylvia takes us back to 1950 in Bellflower Village. She describes the Victorian house where she grew up in such a way that makes you feel as if it's a real historical property located in Connecticut. You really feel as if you're living with these sisters in the 50's, and I absolutely loved the feminist vibes throughout the excerpt.

Really excited to continue reading Iris's & Sylvia's story.
