The Byline Bible is a very humorous, yet informative, look into getting your work published. The first look of this book provides a number of great writing prompts and starting places to get yourself on the path to publication which I loved. I found this to be useful to myself as a writer but thought it was equally sound advice and provided engaging writing prompts I could assign to students in my high school English classes. The humor in this book is fantastic. It ranges from somewhat dry to sometimes self-deprecating to slapstick and it makes for a very entertaining read. This book could have easily been a boring and dry how-to, but the author instead weaves her funny anecdotes and personal experiences alongside her expository piece.
