"The Byline Bible" by Susan Shapiro is a great writing tool for anyone who is interested in starting or improving their skills in writing, specifically freelancing. It's not easy getting paid to write but Shapiro's book breaks down the process and includes samples to help you along the way. Personally, I got into freelancing by a "happy accident" and can't seem to figure out how to expand to other publications (at least ones that want to pay me!). "The Byline Bible" makes the whole process easier to understand and practice.
While there are a lot of examples in this book, I find the best way to learn how to do something is to research it. So, these writing examples are exactly what I need to study in order to craft my essays in a way that gets them published.
