The Brilliant Death is whimsically written, and the words seem to float right off the page. This YA novel is a mafia tale in a fantasy world - definitely a unique premise! The main character, Teo, struggles with wanting a place in her family that she cannot have due to being born a girl, but she has magic in here and encounters a mysterious stranger who also has magic. Teo is a very likable main character, and I'm so curious about where the story will take her! The cover is very lovely and eye-catching.
