The cover art of The Brilliant Death gave me the impression that I was about to read a fantasy novel, as its bright cover and ornate decoration suggested. Teodora DiSangro is an interesting main character, with a story that promises great action and thrilling moments. I am not usually a fan of the genre, but this is a book that I would get from the library.
