Thanks for the opportunity to read an excerpt from this historical fiction book. I was surprised really! I didn't know anything at all about the concepts experienced by the main character. Specifically, the blue skin people, the packhorse libraries, etc. This was really interesting and caused me to open a new search tab and take a look at what this book would be talking about. I think that's one of the side benefits of a good historical fiction (if it's not too much fiction): you learn something while you read an entertaining tale. I have heard and read that this book is really good. I think the author has a great writing style, and obviously she has come up with a really unique storyline featuring elements of history that I have never come across before, nonetheless in bestselling book.
I also think that the cover and title are pretty interesting. I never would've thought that I would be reading about what I was reading about based on them!
