This was a three star for me because it was slow moving and I got bogged down in the excess description. That being said I really enjoyed the meat of the story. A young, unmarried woman, judged by others for her appearance, delivers books to the outcasts of the community. In her travels she develops empathy for those that have been sidelined and in her experiences she finds love for herself. This book is based on real people which I found fascinating and Cussy's story broke my heart but her inner strength and self confidence in her inner self gave me encouragement. I was intrigued by Cussy because of her strong opinion of her character and how that differed from how she felt about her outward appearance.
