This book is incredible!
I absolutely love historical fiction, and this book really taught me a lot. First, I knew nearly nothing of the Blue People of Kentucky. This was a fascinating look at the world from their perspective, and just how much prejudice they went through. I also learned about the traveling librarians, that risked their lives to deliver books to people who would not have otherwise been able to get books.
The story moved at a good pace and the characters were very likable and I really enjoyed the whole story. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone, especially those who are fans of historical fiction. I loved the huge heart of the main protagonist, and I loved how she cared so much about those on her route, going above and beyond for them on a daily basis.
There are some mentions of sexual assault and of racism in this book, so those who read this should watch for those triggers.
