While I generally love books written about booksellers, librarians, and other people whose calling it is to spread the reach of books, just from the first few pages I could tell that this book was just not for me. First of all, I found an incomplete sentence on the first page. Secondly, while I acknowledge that the book is written using grammar that was most likely utilized in the time period and place in which the book is set, for me it detracted from the story. Lastly, many of the book's concepts are underdeveloped. All of that being said, I can appreciate and in fact love the both that this book is based on someone who loves and appreciates books, as well as the fact that the fiction of the story is based in historical fact, but it just wasn't for me.
