Historical fiction is one of my favorite genres. I love reading more about what happened "back in the days" even if it is through a fictional story. I had just been getting into reading again when I was recommended by a dear friend to read this one and I am so glad that I did.
To say I loved this one is an understatement. I love reading about the Blue People of Kentucky, learning more about the pack horse librarians, and the small bit of romance that took place within this book.
The descriptions were perfect and really enabled the reader to visualize what was going on and as I read, I could see the events taking place in my head just like a movie.
I listened to the audiobook version which took a few chapters to get into because of the narrators thick thick southern drawl. Even being from the south myself, I'm not quite sure I'd heard a "twang" like that before.
