The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek was an eye opening book. I had never heard of the blue people of Kentucky before. When I first started reading the book I had to do a search and learn even more about this condition. The whole storyline of the discrimination the main character and her father endured was interesting, but not hard to believe. The plight of the mountain people was hard to read at times. The joy they found in a simple book or magazine was inspiring. We can learn a lot from these people about how to be appreciative of what we have. The whole pack horse librarian program was amazing to read about. The women who provided this service were brave and committed. I had never read anything about these librarians before this book. The writing was heartfelt and truly drew me into the story. I have already recommended this book to my local book club and friends.
