Another Bookwoman - and a great one!

SPOILERS I had just read JoJo Moyes A Giver of Stars so wasn't sure about reading another book about the Book Woman of Kentucky but i'm so glad i did! first off - the history of the Blue People of the hills of kentucky is nothing short of fascinating. I read about them before diving into the book. i had no idea they would have been considered "colored" and stereotyped against in the same that that Black people were but it did make some sense. I loved the inner conflict of Cussy once she took the medicine - you always think life will be better another way but sometimes that just isn't the case and i'm glad she embraced the blue. i loved her final courting candle scene - who wouldn't! i was sad that the last chapter was 4 years later and didn't give me enough! it was great
