Sounds so much like the history of my state

At first this didn’t catch my attention. I was thinking too much Little House on the Prairie. But the more I read and the more first impressions I read about it, I was intrigued. It reminds me so much of the tells my mother has told about her generation growing up in the mountains of western NC. About being so poor and so many hardships. Walking to school in the snow. It was harder to get your hands on books then also. And with the depression, you were lucky to get food. I’m rambling, sorry. This book sounds so good. I think the main character is wonderful to do what she did.
