Cussy instantly pulls at your heartstrings. Her hardships and her dreams shape and define her and I was pulled in instantly. The time and place is described enough to paint a picture of Cussy and her home life. I'm intrigued by her only friend, Angeline and also to know more about the Pack Horse Library Project.
