This book reminded me of the Hallmark show The Good Witch. The story takes place in the small town of Dove Pond. The Dove sisters are known for their unique and magical gifts. This book is about Sarah Dove's gift. Books speak to Sarah and insist on being read, either by her or by other people in the town. When Grace Wheeler and her family move to Dove Pond, Sarah is tasked with delivering a book to Grace. Grace is overwhelmed by all of the things going on in her life and doesn't have time for magical nonsense. There are a lot of wonderful themes in this book....family, community, friendship...as well as some serious topics like drug abuse, Alzheimer's disease, and foster care. I wish more had been written about Grace's childhood, but otherwise I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more books about the Dove sisters.
